Former Port Isabel Tarpon quarterback Isaiah Martinez is back in town after his first year of matriculation at Blinn Junior College. The Press found him at Tarpon Stadium recently and he talked about his three-year career as the starting quarterback for Port Isabel.
“I’m just here for the summer,” Martinez said last month. “I work at Gravity Park (South Padre Island)…earn a little money for when I go back to college in the fall.”
Martinez will be starting his second year at Blinn JC at the end of the summer.
For three seasons, 2011 through 2013, Martinez played quarterback for Tarpon teams that won a total of 28 games against only 10 losses.
