Point Isabel Independent School District recently held their Parents Night event, honoring their students and those students’ parents. Amongst the festivities was a touching moment of kindness that saw the Laguna Vista Police Department show up to represent fallen officer Noah Leblanc, for his daughter, Ava Leblanc.
Officer Leblanc died in 2021, due to covid after fighting a battle with prostate cancer, which he was diagnosed with in 2020. According to a remembrance left on odmp.org, Officer Down Memorial Page, by Officer Leblanc’s brother, Walter Ray Leblanc, Officer Leblanc, “battled chemo and radiation, and sciatic nerve damage at the same time.” The cancer and Covid were not his first brush with death, as at age seven Officer Leblanc had been revived by his father from an accidental drowning incident. Noah has been survived by his wife, two children, a brother and his parents.
Noah Leblanc was one of over 900 confirmed officers who passed away from Covid. Officers contracted the sickness in greater numbers as they had contact with the community despite the lockdowns, according to odmp.org. On odmp.org,many have left reflections of their time with, and the life of, Officer Leblanc, so that his life can continue to be celebrated long into the future. Other reflections are from law enforcement officers across the nation reaching out to their fallen comrade and supporting his family.
