The Laguna Madre Water District [LMWD] is excited to announce the Employee of the Month of April 2023. After much consideration of the employees nominated for this honor, LMWD would like to congratulate Juan Mayorga for being selected.
Mayorga was nominated by Luis Nava, Distribution Manager, and the LMWD committee voted to select him. In the nomination, Nava emphasized the fierce work drive exercised by Mayorga.
“He is a person committed to succeeding at his job. No task is too difficult for him…He is willing to work with anyone as long as the job goes smoothly and gets done,” stated Nava.
Mayorga has been with the district for 15 years and during that time, he has acquired the CDL driver’s license, a C license in distribution, and is a Certified Tower Climber and Certified Rescuer. Mayorga first started in the Distribution Department, then worked at the sewer plant for three years before transferring back to distribution. He is a Backhoe Machine Operator and works on meters, cutoffs, installations, water taps, etc., as well as special projects that may arise. Mayorga is also the inspector for new development, ensuring connections are completed properly by contractors, according to plans. Also, he is an Assistant Manager Trainee at LMWD, pending the recertification of his B license in distribution.
In the official nomination submitted, his supervisor stated that Mayorga “has good customer service and communication skills when attending a customer complaint or when working with contractors on projects.”
Nava also said that “Juan is well organized with assignments, which allows him to be more productive at work.”
Furthermore, Mayorga’s commitment to LMWD shows through his work ethic, dedication, loyalty and additional responsibilities he takes on, such as the Safety Committee on which he proudly serves, according to LMWD.
