The South Padre Island Convention and Visitors Advisory Board (CVA) held a special meeting Wednesday morning for discussion and action on the opportunity to bring a new art exhibit to the Island.
Rachel Flores, Director of the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) proposed that the Zodiac Exhibit, by Mexican Sculptor Sebastian, be brought to the city from November 2014 to August 2015. The art would be featured in an attempt to entice a variety of visitors including winter Texans, international travelers, and holiday shoppers from Brownsville and McAllen. It would stay on the Island as an attraction during peak season.
The Zodiac is a 12-piece exhibit that is currently being displayed at the Brownsville Museum of Fine Art.
