South Padre Island [SPI], renowned for its sun-kissed beaches and vibrant community spirit, gears up for an unforgettable duo of events to promote wellness, foster community bonds and raise awareness for breast cancer. The upcoming Walk for Women and Casino Night initiatives promise entertaining and impactful activities for residents and visitors alike.

Walk for Women: Strides for Solidarity
The scenic shores of SPI will witness a sea of pink as the community gathers for the annual Walk for Women on Oct. 15, 2023. Slated to begin at the SPI Convention Center, the event celebrates women’s strength and resilience and sheds light on the challenges of fighting cancer. Participants will walk down Padre Boulevard, showcasing solidarity with breast cancer survivors, those lost and those currently battling the disease. The free walk begins promptly at 10 a.m., and walkers travel from the convention center to Louie’s Backyard (approximately three miles). Volunteers provide water and encouragement along the route. Registration is on-site beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Proceeds from Walk for Women are contributed to local area women fighting breast cancer and support programs.
