McDonald’s golden arches. Whataburger’s and IHOP’s orange and blue rooftops. These are identifiable features of corporate franchises that the public has come to recognize after years of loyal patronage to the establishments.
But if a new franchise wanted to open on South Padre Island, and the franchise owner wanted to display the corporation’s signature branded colors, they may find themselves limited by a city ordinance that regulates the available range of color choices.
