The unofficial results for the May 24 primary runoff elections are in.
In the race for Cameron County Judge, former Brownsville mayor and attorney Eddie Treviño, Jr. came out ahead of former Place 4 Commissioner Dan Sanchez. Treviño secured 54 percent of the ballots cast, receiving 9,163 votes to Sanchez’s 8,184.
For Constable Pct. 1, which services the Laguna Heights area, incumbent Pedro “Pete” Delgadillo has secured his place as constable for another term. Delgadillo received 54 percent of the vote, with 262 ballots cast in his favor over challenger Armando Mora, who currently serves in the Port Isabel Police Department. Mora received 225 votes.
